Lissa Mozur Zanville started LMZ Communications after more than 20 years in corporate and government public relations.
A graduate of UCLA, Lissa has worked for the Democratic National Committee in Washington, D.C., the California Democratic Party, the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office, and Pacific Bell (now AT&T).
She became the phone company's Director of Media Relations, supervising their Southern California corporate communications department. In addition, Lissa was the company's spokesperson on local and national issues and created their in-house media training program.
Lissa provides spokesperson training to corporate, sports, entertainment and political clients such as Toyota, Microsoft, City of Los Angeles, Knott's Berry Farm, IBM, Claritin, Ultimate Fighting Championship, and the United States Equestrian Federation, working with the 2008 Olympic and 2010 World Games teams.
Her specialty is preparing executives for print, radio and broadcast interviews. To accomplish this, she stages real-life mock interviews. The mock interviews are taped to demonstrate the importance of the participant's presence in an interview situation: the content of what is being said, how it is being said, as well as style and poise. Most importantly, Lissa is able to offer personal insight on what stories make the news and how clients can better control the interview and directly influence what is said about them.
Lissa lives in Los Angeles with her husband Stuart.
